Its the Film festival season in Utah and the most known one would be the SUNDANCE Film festival

A rather relaxed opening on the 19th marked the beginning of the 11 days long festival.

Here a list of the films I would recommend and am looking forward to see.

The "most promising" one (so says the desert news) would be:

RED LIGHTS

Two investigators of paranormal hoaxes, the veteran Dr. Margaret Matheson and her young assistant, Tom Buckley, study the most varied metaphysical phenomena with the aim of proving their fraudulent origins. Simon Silver, a legendary blind psychic, reappears after an enigmatic absence of 30 years to become the greatest international challenge to both orthodox science and professional sceptics. Tom starts to develop an intense obsession with Silver, whose magnetism becomes stronger with each new manifestation of inexplicable events. As Tom gets closer to Silver, tension mounts, and his worldview is threatened to its core.

Marion and Mingus live cozily—perhaps too cozily—with their cat and two young children from previous relationships. However, when Marion’s jolly father (played by director Delpy’s real-life dad), her oversexed sister, and her sister’s outrageous boyfriend unceremoniously descend upon them for a visit, it initiates two unforgettable days that will test Marion and Mingus’s relationship. I am looking forward to see who the winners of the festival will be. I think i have a view favorites. but well i guess i cant say alot without seing them anyway.

So after our Lookbook shooting yesterday i was pretty tired and wanted to take a bath and hit the hay.

But after my dear Friend Marlene slipped it to me that the Golden Globes where on 2night i thought..."Well might as well watch the live-stream"

All in all the red carpet was pretty much as every red carpet. Only big Designers, hardly any young emerging talents. I took the time(yes i know i must be bored out of my head) to make a ranking of:

Born in Seattle, studied conceptual art in San Francisco, briefly lived in Berlin, and now residing in New York. All leather pieces are 100% hand crafted out of her studio in Brooklyn.

So her homepage says, i discovered here a view years back shortly before i met her in Person at Paris Fashionweek in 2009 or 2010 it was. Don`t really remember. Anyhow at that time Zana was just about to get really big. Well now she is! if you just look at the list of Magazines arround the globe that featured her and who is wearing zana bayne leather. Congrats to you Zana! great job!

I first saw her on the cover on Metal Magazine, my favorite magazine of all time!
This Editorial shot by Quentin de Briey is probably the best my eyes have ever seen!

Fittingly, Dellal works her punk-grunge edge in kind of a neo-Pocahontas type way, if Pocahontas shaved half of her long locks off. In addition to her now-signature hair, Dellal also trades in her typical studs and moto jacket for armloads of ethnic jewelry and beaded leather. WE LOVE IT! :)

Ever since then It-Brit Alice Dellal was in my heart! great look! strong style!

...it was Thursday evening when YOSHIS CORNER presented to exhibition "ASIAN BUKAKE"

Well it wasn't an actual "Bukake" exhibition more like a general exhibition by asian artists that had a hint of Bukake to it i would say.

anyhow here are a view pics.

i loved this piece cause from across the room it looked like a Photo but it is oil on linen.
The shoulder parts are made with great effort and detail!

Getting an invitation to a DIESEL presentation is always a great moment when i get my Mail in the morning. It guarantees a great evening filled with fashion, music, drinks and food.

We don't know how DIESEL does is but they always put so much effort into their presentations! WE LIKE! more of that please!
The Location was amazing! the Elysium in the 1st district in Vienna.

The fingerfood was as well haha :)

Everyone loved it and no one had ever been here before (which is kinda rare in Vienna)

The Models were part of the installation that went throughout the whole location, making them part of the whole scenery. No new idea but the realization was put together perfectly

One of the best newcomer Models in town! Sophie(Motheragency) wearing my favorite Dress

Diesel would not be Diesel if there wasn't a great Goodiebag ;)
And this time to my big delight it had my favorite diesel perfume in it :) yay! when i was about 18 i wore only that.

...where filled with events and happenings. First of them was this right here, the opening of the "House 21"

From 1962 and 2001 the former "House 20" was used as a Museum of modern art in vienna.

1963 Wortuba (austrian sculpting artist) had his big retro perspective here. YAY! so much information.

Anyhow we find it is really important that austrian art gets pushed more and more. And up till now there was no platform like the House 21.
Showing art from the 1950 up to today. great! Just don`t forget that there are a lot of artists in front of your door!!

We can imagine that being the curator of such a House can be very challenging due to the fact the the House is actually ONE BIG OPEN SPACE and to create exhibitions there..puh! longs for a lot of creativity and real input into the house.
Seing and watching how the space of the house reacts to different art spaces being used and considering also the light(which we really thought could have been solved differently!) and the weather conditions. (becuase everything is out of Glas!)

After that Alice, Veronique, Michi and me where of to PRATERSAUNA to see a concert by one of my favorite bands at this time. WHEN SAINTS GO MACHINE.
Amazing concert, it was the second time i saw them live and it was exactly as good as the first time. bought a shirt there with all their wicked lyrics, which Nikolaj was so kind to sign for me(the singer). Had a great talk with him.

So view people made this concert to a very great experience!

WOOP WOOP the action continues with an exhibition by the class of digital art with their exhibition.

I spend last weekend in Munich with some good friends of mine.
Olivia got lucky and has the chance for an internship at Marcel Ostertag. YAY for her!

But what is there to say about Munich other then, its surely not my city. The People there are way to full of themselves and especially fashion. I thought in Vienna it is hard to find people who have good taste... but Munich is some what else hehe.

So for that the surprise was grand once i got back to my beloved Vienna! Cause lovely DIESEL sent me a package! YES! THE TIME IS NOW!

And what a beautiful sunday it is indeed! Vienna i love you :)
Listening to Angus and Julia Stone and eating the rest of my Birthday cake, yes it was my birthday on the 30th.
Almost all of my friends where there and it was a great gathering of all people who make my life so important and who are always there for me!

So yesterday i went to Brut and watched a perfomance by Gob Squad called "Before your very eyes"

For the first time in their 17 year history, Gob Squad do not appear onstage themselves, instead directing a group of 8-14 year olds

A performance about aging, decisions, consequences and not regreting what life gave you and what you made of it.
Tickets go from 6 to 12 euros. Worth watching. (Watching it is cause the kids performing are inside a mirror coted room - we can see them but they can't see us)

Oh wait! another thing i found!

A surprisingly nice Vernissage took place yesterday at the "Postsparkasse" in Vienna.
Graduates of the Hetzendorf Bachelor class (soon to close down! sign the petition here) and the University of arts in Linz showed their final collections.
Sadly i came a bit late but there was no introduction of any kind so i din't miss anthing important. (Was actually hoping to hear about whats going on in Hetzendorf due to the closing down of the BAK class).

Anyhow here are some impressions.

After that i made my way to a concert by !!!Hanna Palme!!! yay! it was wonderful! and by the way! If you're into mexican food you should visit the Hacienda ! really good food there!

... in about two hours i am expecting some close friends over for dinner. I'm making my famous rost beef (of course with the vegies sepperate for vegetarians Mucki and Olivia).

Anyhow, the whole day is once again so 90s listening to Ks`choice, The Cranes, Sinèad O'Connor and The Cranberries (Cranberries are having a new Album release in 2012!) is really what i need right now :) Embracing the lyrics and enjoying the fullness of life!

It always amazes me how God gave sertain people the smackin gift of songwriting!

The Album is called 21... its my 21st birthday in a view days and the Album is the best thing that could have happened to me so far.

Westwood was always known to shock and startle the world with her appearances in the Open.
We came upon the new campagne images for AW 11/12 you can check them out by clicking here.

Anyhow, we flicked through and had mixed feelings about the whole thing. Westwood shot the campaign in Kenya Africa which is also the production place for the new collection.
One would think:
"Oh! Shooting a campaign in Africa? keeping the costs low on models"

"Nasty campaign! Taking poverty as a background for high class fahsion photography"

Well my dears i thought the same way! But never judge a book by its cover! Go check out the Homepage and see what ms. Westwood has to say to all of this.
Westwood build a campaign with focus on bringing work to Africa. FINALLY! Somebody noticed this! Forget Charity! One has to bring work to those who want to work! Its the only way to keep poverty away!

Rahman. The band has quietly been recording together over the past 18 months, with their debut LP planned for sometime around September. "It's different from anything else I've ever been involved in,"
Jagger tells Rolling Stone.

"The music is very wide-ranging – from reggae to ballads to Indian songs in Urdu."

The group got its start two years ago when Dave Stewart called Jagger from his home in Jamaica. "I live in Lime Hall right above St. Ann's Bay," says Stewart. During a chat with a very talented and upcoming Designer Tom van der Broght we found out that i am a METAL HORSE and he is a EARTH HORSE.

So what is there to say about the METAL HORSE:

They have an amazing capacity for hard work. As a result, they know great success and financial security in their lifetimes. Get in the Haze

So my day started out kinda weired. I wasnt able to sleep for a long time must have something to do with the moon i guess.
A friend-Bloggeress of mine, Anna, told me a day before to make sure i go to the opening of the fashion exhibition "Get in the Haze" showing at the Quartier21 in Vienna.

At first i didn't want to go cause i expected a "one of those" exhibitions. But i must say i am glad that i went. It was a very positive surprise!
Allthough i think that its not quite that hard to take a handful of students at the Antwerp Academy and place them in an exhibition. Nevertheless i really liked it :) and recomend to see it!

Okay so the other day me and a very good friend of mine - Babe - had a fun movie night.
We started with a film that actually i should have seen about 7 years ago but i never got to it.
Shame on me!

The Opening of the annual austrian filmfestival DIAGONALE took place at the Helmut List Halle in Graz.
Sadly i couldn't be there (actually i was to tired). Anyhow.
We started our day with a Film on Ute Bock called "die verrückte Welt der Ute Bock". Mixing fiction with documentary this film shows a view days in the Life of Ute Bock.
If you would look at the movie acting and script wise - you would have to find it not watchable. But in this movie there are different issues that are being discussed. We won't tell you more ;) watch the movie.

We would have loved to stay for the speech and discussions with Ute but we had to run to the next film called ARAB ATTRACTION by Andreas Horvath and Monika Muskala.
To portrait the Islamic culture is very difficult although i liked how Mr. Horvath put the qestions. But this film does not need critics. Its criticizes its self.

Another Film that should be mentioned is HEADSHOTS. At first i thought it will turn into a cliche of the photographer/fashion szene. But it didn't. watch it ;)

Worst movie of yesterday was TODESPOLKA after this movie there is no doubt for me, all Austrian actors are horrible!(except 2 or so)
It was not funny at all. had a good start got really bad in the middle and at the end... well... i left ;)

Our train got into Graz on time. Right in front of the train station we caught the tram to the Kunsthaus.

Were a very friendly guy (called Sebastian - i was told) gave me my pass even before i told him my name. creepy.

Every year since 1998 hundreds of film lovers go on a pilgrimage to Austria's Film capitol GRAZ. This year, different from last year were i wasn't able to attend the spectacle due to work, i will be among these pilgrims. Reporting to you daily about the happenings taking place.

And so far, i were told, Dough&Fruit will be the only Blog present at the Festival.

Asics + OT Spring Summer 2011

Yes! last time we postet was a while ago. don't know don't care. anyhow.
In the meantime i was hopping on one foot at the ASICS and Onitsuka Tiger Spring Summer event(one foot cause i injured my jump-ankle- sweeeeet).

We loved the idea of the "sneaker dinner" that was presented on the tables, in the first floor so i couldn't see it. life's hard.
Karaoke from our favorite J-POP girls Anna and Katharina was amazing. The whole evening was hosted at Katha. happy-happy-and-clappy.

Mugler

We kept quiet about the Mugler collection under the new creative director Nicola Formichetti for a while because we wanted to see how the woman collection turns out.

Looking at the mens collection was big disappointment for us. We didn't see Mugler in any of the designs. The cuts where boring, the material was kinda nice but also nothing innovative.

You could clearly see that a Stylist did the work of a designer.

The campaign images where amazing! The styling great! The guy with the tats, Rico, was great as well although some one told me he was in prison for a while which makes it evan more interesting ;)

Anyhow the women's collection was nothing like the mens! Loved it! One could see Mugler through the designs.

We think its important to give the brand a personal touch but still to stay true to the basics that the head designer of the house used back in the days. Anyhow, good work Nicola. We are sure you´ll boost Mugler back to the top!

great! wonderful! detailed! awesome finish! so many words to describe what we think of Perter Pilottos collection for this Fall. For me Peter ist the best equivalent to name as an austrian designer. Contemporary that is.
Presented a view days ago @London Fashion week.

If you go to www.peterpilotto.com you can see for your self. We love how the webiste is designed to fit the whole screen and show the entire show in the background. The way the material flows! his prints are amazing. We specially love the pants and the tailored jackets! very graphic and structured.
If you look close you can see the plait detail on the bottom of the trousers. Well what is there to say other than "thank you peter!"

Exactly two years ago

What was the main reason that drove you to publish it?

I had always been taking photos and notes of everything I saw and felt inspiring. So I thought why not to share it with other people and also felt that I need some feedback. So blogging seemed to be a perfect way.

Did your life change in some way, because of your Blog?

Can't say it completely turned into another direction but blogging definitely gave me a lot of motivation. Blogging definitely has its benefits - I'm being invited to many events and fashion shows I wouldn't have chance to go if I wasn't blogging, meeting many important people in fashion industry and also making new friends, getting new experiences and not to mention receiving free items from companies to review.

For the next question i have to say i simply love your ear cuffs, how did you come up with this idea?

In summer, when i did the first ones, I was really inspired (and I still am) in Native American culture and of course I was really into those enormous feather headdresses. I specially like how they look like from the side. I wanted to achieve similar silhouette in jewelry so I came up with the idea of feather ear cuff.

How is that working for you? Do you get a lot of orders?

First I made only two ones and sold them both. I wasn't sure if there's any people out there interested in buying more so I didn't take it very seriously. But after I was back from my summer holiday I started them making little more. First there was only 5 orders, then 10, and now I'm getting orders on every single day. For me it has grown unbelievably big and I basically work on them everyday - making new ones, organising the store, shipping out orders . It takes lot of time but I enjoy that. I'm probably going to continue with that for some more time but I'm already thinking about designing some new items.

Concerning fashion, what would you say about your country(estonia??)? What would you change if you could? Estonian fashion does exist but it's still very low-key. There are some very good designers, who make gorgeous evening gowns and some who make very avant-garde clothes. That's all cool but someone should make clothes, which are suitable for everyday wear but still have design elements. I really adore minimalistic Scandinavian design and clothes by Swedish and Danish designers and brands. I wish we had something similar here in Estonia.
